Leading U.S. states by coal exports 2018

This statistic shows the leading ten states in the United States by coal exports in 2018. In that year, Alabama exported 7.64 million short tons of coal. In 2013, coal production in the U.S. fell below one billion short tons for the first time since 1993, but by 2014 production had increased to just over one billion short tons. Coal-derived energy still provides much of the United States' energy.
