Percentage of people in Wales who say they can speak Welsh by local authority 2023

Approximately 29.6 percent of people in Wales advised that they were able to speak Welsh in 2022. The share of people who could speak Welsh ranged from almost three-quarters of the population in Gwynedd, located in the North West of Wales, to 14.5 percent in Blaenau Gwent, a small county borough in the South East of the country.
