Electricity generating capacities installed in Wales 2016-2019, by source

Installed capacity of sites generating electricity from renewable sources in Wales continuously rose in the period of consideration. Between 2016 and 2019, total installed capacity increased by 650.2 megawatts electrical. In Wales, wind was by far the leading renewable source, accounting with 57 percent of the total installed capacity in 2019. At that time, solar photovoltaic (PV) ranked second, at 1.1 gigawatts electrical or 17.5 percent of Wales's total installed capacity.
