This statistic shows which occasions adults would consider going to a pub/bar/club for in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2014. A majority of over 80 percent said they considered a birthday to be an occasion for going to the pub, and bank holidays as well as anniversaries and Christmas were perceived as occasions for celebration in a bar or the like. Sports events, on the other hand, were only seen as occasions for going to a pub by between 4 and 23 percent of those surveyed.
