Among all European countries, the trust levels were highest in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands . France noted a decrease of six percent from in 2013 to 25 percent in 2014, whereas Ireland observed an increase of five percent from 2013 to 2014.

The original question read as follows: "Below is a list of companies. Please indicate how much you trust each company or organization to do what is right, using the same 9-point scale where one means that you 'do not trust them at all', and nine means that you 'trust them a great deal' to do what is right." Data presented corresponds to top 4 answer categories.
Survey was conducted in 27 countries. Edelman.com surveys 1,000 respondents per country from the general population and combines the results with "informed publics" interview outcomes from U.S., China and 200 other countries.
