Crowdfunding platforms by campaign type in Europe 2013

This statistic presents the type of campaigns hosted on the European crowdfunding platforms as of December 2013. In many cases, crowdfunding platforms supported more than one type of campaign. Approximately 45 percent of platforms reported carrying reward-based crowdfunding campaigns. A further 36 percent supported equity-based campaigns and 32 percent donation-based campaigns.

The source adds further information regarding methodology: "Breakdown of the sample: 414 crowdfunding (CF) contributors; 152 current/future project owners; 81 CF platform managers, 91 CF associations representatives; also contributing: banks, venture capitalists and angel investors.
Geographical breakdown of the sample: 254 France, 151 Germany, significant contribution from Italy, the UK, Spain, Austria and Belgium (all between eight and five percent of the sample). Malta and Norway not represented in consultation."
