The use of prepaid debit cards in the United States from 2013 to 2019 can be categorized by employment status of the household. 8.4 percent of the households in which the family head was employed used prepaid debit cards in 2013, which rose to 9 percent in 2019. However, in particular unemployed households in the United States use prepaid debit cards, amounting to 16.4 percent in 2019. 10.3 percent of prepaid debit card users in 2019 had no high school degree.
