Share of consumer credit reports gone into collection in the U.S. by tradeline 2014
This statistic displays the percentage of U.S consumers with unpaid debts that have gone into collection as of 2014, by tradeline type. During that year, almost 20 percent of credit reports had one or more collections tradelines originating from medical or health care. Collections tradeline can negatively affect a consumer's credit score, while over half of these collections are from collectors trying to collect on medical bills for hospitals and other medical facilities.
