Volunteering in England 2005-2020 by gender

This statistic presents the proportion of adults who volunteered in the last year in England, between 2005 and 2020, by gender. Over the survey periods shown, the share of female respondents participating in voluntary activities tended to be slightly higher than male respondents. Around 30 percent of male and 34.6 percent of female respondents in 2019/20 said they had volunteered at least once in the previous year.
