The turnover of the information sector in Malta increased by 56.1 million euros (+57.3 percent) in 2021 in comparison to the previous year. With 153.97 million euros, the turnover thereby reached its highest value in the observed period. Turnover is defined by Eurostat as the total of all sales (excluding VAT) of goods and services carried out by the enterprises of a given sector during the reference period.
Structural business statistics (SBS) describes the structure, conduct and performance of economic activities, down to the most detailed activity level (several hundred economic sectors) The source adds the following information: Turnover corresponds to market sales of goods or services supplied to third parties, it includes all duties and taxes on the goods or services invoiced by the unit with the exception of the VAT invoiced to its customer, it also includes all other charges - transport, packaging, etc. Data coverage corresponds to aggregate INF (Sections J581, J59, J60 and J639) of CE Rev. 2.
