Industry 1.0 (mechanization): the first generation of steam power and machines were used instead of human and animal labor.
Industry 2.0 (electrification): the era of electric power and using electric motor manufacturing to replace the steam engine. The mass production was born.
Industry 3.0 (digitization): the era of computational, digital, and robot manufacturing. Robots are being used to replace human labor.
Industry 4.0 (internet/connection): the new era of integration between technology and digital systems to control the operation of machines, by allowing machines to communicate among themselves via the internet or cyber system in order to produce a wide variety of products that meet the specific needs of each customer.
