Overseas visitors to government funded museums in England 2019-2022, by museum
The number of overseas visitors to museums sponsored by the UK government's Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in England rose slightly in 2021/2022 over the previous fiscal year, after falling dramatically with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Despite the increase, overseas visits remained way below pre-pandemic levels. Overall, the British Museum reported the highest figure between April 2021 and March 2022, with roughly 276 thousand overseas visitors.
