Volume of Scotch whisky released for consumption in the United Kingdom (UK) 2000-2015

This statistic displays the total volume of Scotch whisky released for consumption in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2000 to 2015. Since 2008, the volume of Scotch whisky released for consumption in the UK has decreased. In 2000, 31.4 million liters were released for UK consumption, which decreased to 23.8 million liters by 2015. Similar trends are also seen in the volume of home produced whisky cleared for consumption. Overall, production levels of Scotch whisky have also decreased when based on volume, although the value of exports has increased. The United States is the most important trading partner, both in terms of exports of Scotch whisky from the United Kingdom, as well as imports. The largest trading region, however, is Asia and Oceania, followed closely by the European Community.
