Local authority permanent dwellings commenced across England 2001-2018
This statistic illustrates the number of permanent dwellings for which construction was started by local authorities, in England in each financial year from 2001/02 to 2017/18. The figures show a significant increase during the period, from the 120 private dwellings started in 2001/02, to a peak of 2,200 dwellings in 2013/14. However, figures declined again the following years.
