Throughout 2023, movie theaters across Spain sold approximately 76.7 million tickets, up from 59.1 million the year before. Yet the 2022 figure is still inferior to the 104.9-million cinema attendance reported in 2019, before the COVID-19 outbreak. Similarly, box office gross in Spain remained below pre-pandemic values in 2023.
