
Spanish insurance market: life premiums distribution channels in 2012-2019
In 2012, bancassurance accounted for 69.7 percent of total life insurance sales in Spain, making banks and lending institutions the dominant distribution channels in Spain. The relative weight of bancassurance diminished slightly throughout the analyzed period, and by 2019 it accounted for 59.2 percent. Brokers had the lowest market share of life insurance premiums.
