Average cinema ticket price in Iceland 2010-2017 This statistic displays the average price of cinema tickets in Iceland from 2010 to 2017. In Iceland the average price of a cinema ticket was 1,230.38 Icelandic krónur in 2017. The average ticket price increased during the period in consideration. With a gross box office revenue of only 14.02 million euros as of 2017, Iceland belonged to the European countries with the smallest cinema industry. For comparison, the United Kingdom generated revenues of more than 1,46 billion euros. Nevertheless, in respect of country's size, the Icelandic movie industry was relatively successful latest. The most famous films were for example 'Children of Nature', which was nominated for the Academy Awards, or '101 Reykjavík' directed by well known Baltasar Kormákur. Furthermore, Iceland is a popular location for Hollywood productions such as 'Batman Begins'.
