The total number of payment cards issued in the Euro area from 2009 to 2022 generally rose. As of 2022, there were approximately 704 million cards with a payment function issued in the Eurozone. Just the year before, there were 634 million cards with a payment function in the Eurozone. The country with the most payment cards in the Eurozone is Germany.
