Leading brands of energy drinks in Spain 2014-2016 This statistic shows a ranking of the leading brands of energy drinks in Spain from 2014 to 2016, by number of users. In 2016, an estimated 8.7 million people used Aquarius brand energy drinks in Spain. On a per capita basis, Spanish consumers used 2.73 kilograms of energy drinks per person in 2015. This amounted to 122,457,000 kilograms of energy drinks. This is similar to the level seen in each of the following years, with 2.75 kilograms of energy drinks being used per person. This is significantly lower than the amount of Cola drinks, with Spanish consumers using 20.65 kilograms of cola drinks per person in 2015.

Across each region of Spain, consumers in the Balaeric Islands spend more money per person on soft drinks than any other. Consumers in that region spent an average of 40.41 euros per person in 2015, compared with 24.66 euros in Navarre. Consumers in Castile-La Mancha spent the highest average amount on fizzy water, at 1.37 euros per person.
