* The share of adults who have quit smoking was calculated as the percentage of "ever smokers" who were former smokers at the time of survey.
Data for 1999 to 2012 comes from the Canadian Tobacco Use Monitoring Survey (CTUMS). Data from 2013 onwards comes from the Canadian Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Survey (CTADS) and is collected each month from February to December every two years. The source does not specify the number of respondents.
Figures for 2014 and 2016 were not available.
