Included markets were: Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Canada, United States, United Arab Emirates and Brazil . All businesses selected for the survey had an annual sales revenue of 3 million U.S. dollars and above.

The original survey question was posed as follows: Has your company's management team discussed the RMB as a [potential] business enabler or opportunity?
