It can be seen that a total of 60 percent of the respondents claimed to count on personal savings. A reliance on redundancy insurance or on a spouse or partner working / downsizing or selling property completed the top three, with 29 percent and 28 percent of respondents respectively stating these as their back-up options in the event of having to stop working. The least popular back-up plan in Hungary was to rely on mortgage payment insurance with only one percent of respondents stating this as of 2017.
