This statistic illustrates the media used by Europeans to consume national political news in 2019, broken down by age. During the survey period, it was found that television was used for national political news by the majority of Europeans in all age groups, most significantly in older age groups such as those aged between 40 years and 54 years (78 percent) and those aged over 55 years (88 percent). The internet (i.e. websites and online social networks) was the most popular medium among Europeans aged between 15 years and 24 years (76 percent), while only 24 percent of respondents aged over 55 years reported its usage for national political news.
