Accepted asylum applicants in the EU from Q1 2014 to Q2 2019
This statistic shows the number of accepted first instance asylum applications in the EU, from the first quarter 2014 to the second quarter 2019. Over the period, the number of accepted asylum applicants to the EU had grown annually between 2014 and 2016 and reached the peak in 2016 at 214 thousand accepted asylum applicants. However, in 2018 the figures declined to approximately 50 thousand applicants.
