Smart meter users in Great Britain were generally more confident in their decisions around energy, and more trusting of their energy supplier, according to a survey conducted in 2021. At the time, 62 percent of smart meter users believed they paid the right amount for the energy they used, compared to 56 percent of respondents with a traditional meter.
As of 2021, there were nearly 22 million domestic smart meters in operation in Great Britain.
