Book purchase sales channels in Canada 2022, by format

The most used sales channel for buying print books in Canada in 2022 was a physical bookstore, with 16 percent of respondents to a January 2023 survey saying they got books this way in the previous year. Audiobook and e-book buyers, on the other hand, differed from print buyers but splayed similar purchasing behavior to each other, with consumers most likely to buy e-books or audiobooks via online retailers or subscription services.
