The effects of coronavirus pandemic in mobile usage has sustained in China. As of the last quarter of 2023, Chinese mobile users spent an average of 5.5 hours daily on apps, higher than the average pre-pandemic level. Apart from instant messengers, short video and online video apps were another popular app category, accounting for over a third of the total app usage time.
