Leading pay TV operators in Africa 2019-2025

In 2019, the battle for the position of Africa's top pay TV operator was being fought between StarTimes and DStv, which each had 7.81 million and 10.23 million subscribers respectively. Multichoice's DStv was the clear market leader, but this may not be the case in years to come. By 2025 it is expected that StarTimes' subscriber base will exceed that of DStv by around 25.5 thousand, placing StarTimes/StarSat and Multichoice on an almost even playing field.
