Infrastructure and capital projects reached nearly 173 billion U.S. dollars in West Africa as of 2021. This was the highest value among all regions in the continent. Southern Africa followed closely, registering construction projects with a total value of 147.7 billion U.S. dollars. Overall, infrastructure and capital projects in Africa increased by around 31 percent in value that same year, compared to 2020.
