Reasons for fewer visitors/guests for tourism businesses in Wales 2019
In 2019, 18 percent of Welsh tourism businesses believed that uncertainty around Brexit was a reason for fewer visitors/guests this summer compared to summer 2018. Around a fifth of tourism businesses stated that visitor levels had declined compared to last summer. The weather was cited as another reason, however tourism businesses that had experienced an increase in visitors also stated that the weather had helped, as had more British people staying in the UK.
