Tesla Model 3 electrifies the market

Currently, Tesla’s Model 3 has an EV market share of about 60 percent. The Model 3 is marketed as the way to bring electric vehicles to the mass market, with a more affordable price than Tesla’s higher end offerings. In The company delivered 140,000 Model 3s to U.S. customers, making up more than half of total electric vehicles delivered in 2018. However, some analysts warn that demand for this version is lessening now that Tesla’s cars no longer qualify for the 7,500 U.S. dollar tax rebate offered by the U.S. government for electric vehicles.

Worldwide, Tesla delivered some 245,000 vehicles in 2018. The global market for electric vehicles is projected to increase to over 567 billion U.S. dollars by 2025.
