Department store retail sales volume quarterly index in Great Britain 2015-2022

This statistic shows the quarterly trend in the volume of retail sales (quantity bought) in non-specialized, predominantly non-food stores (i.e. department stores) in Great Britain from 1st quarter 2015 to 2nd quarter 2022. The figures are seasonally adjusted estimates, measured using the Retail Sales Index (RSI) and published in index form with a reference year of 2019 equal to 100. Department store sales reached a peak in the third quarter of 2018, when the index measured at 102.3 and then saw a gradual decline throughout 2019. Sales volume had strong fluctuations after the first quarter of 2020. As of second quarter of 2022, department store sales volume realized at an index level of 94.
