Number of emigrants from the Netherlands 2001-2011, by ethnic origin This statistic shows the total number of emigrants in the Netherlands from 2001 to 2011, by ethnic origin. It reveals that the total number of emigrants increased for each category between 2001 and 2011, but that the increase was neither constant nor even. Both the ethnic Dutch and non-Western non-ethnic Dutch groups saw decreasing numbers of emigrants between 2006 and 2009/2010. The number of Western non-ethnic Dutch emigrants on the other hand increased continuously. Although the ethnic Dutch formed the majority of the emigrants in 2001, by 2011 they were outnumbered both by Western non-ethnic Dutch and non-Western non-ethnic Dutch emigrants.
