Supplementary notes

The source explains that Dutch citizenship is lost when the family connections based on which someone received the Dutch nationality are impaired, but only if that person does not become stateless afterwards. People older than 18 lose Dutch citizenship when they voluntarily take on another nationality, or by signing a waiver. In the case of a minor, adoption by a non-Dutch national leads to the loss of the Dutch nationality when the minor also receives the nationality of his/her adoptive parents, but only if the minor will not become stateless. Loss of Dutch citizenship is in this case not possible when one of the two parents has the Dutch nationality.
