In 2019, the inactive population in Belgium was higher in the female population and the 15 to 24 years old age group. During that year, about 189 thousand Belgian men aged 25 to 49 years old were economically inactive for roughly 348,000 Belgian women of this age. Nonetheless, the highest inactive population in Belgium was found in women aged 50 to 64 years old.
