In the United Kingdom, there were an average of 293 thousand vacancies originating from large enterprises that employ more than 2.5 thousand people in 2018, an increase when compared with 2002. Between 2002 and 2019 the number of vacancies in all enterprise sizes has experienced a net increase, but all enterprise sizes saw their number of vacancies decline significantly between 2008 and 2009, due to the outbreak of the great recession at this time.
