Social welfare expenditure in Sweden 2011-2021, by household background

Ove the past 10 years, the difference in social welfare awarded to foreign-born households and Swedish-born households in Sweden increased, after dropping from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, the total amount received by foreign-born households amounted to 6.5 billion Swedish kronor, compared to five billion Swedish-born households. In 2021, this amount had increased to 7.3 billion Swedish kronor and decreased to 4.3 billion, respectively.
