Social welfare expenditure in Sweden 2009-2019, by household origin

From 2009 to 2019, the social welfare expenditure for foreign-born households in Sweden was consistently higher compared to the Swedish households. The expenditure on social welfare peaked in 2010 for both types of households, when nearly five billion Swedish kronor in social welfare was paid out to Swedish households and 7.6 billion Swedish kronor to foreign-born households. In 2019, roughly 4.2 billion Swedish kronor was paid out to Swedish households, and around 7.5 billion to foreign-born households.
