Adopted children in 2021 in Sweden, by age group

In Sweden, of the total 15,964 adopted children in 2021, people between 19 and 21 years of age made up the largest age group. 3,666 children in this age group were adopted that year. Those between 16 and 18 made up the second largest age group, with around 3,500 people. The smallest age group was that between zero and three years of age, with a little less than 700. A high number of the adopted children in Sweden come from China.
