How old are higher education students in Sweden when they start studying? This statistic shows the share of new Swedish students in Swedish higher education institutions in the academic year 2018/19, by age group. The largest share of new students were between 20 and 21 years (30 percent), while students up to 19 years old accounted for the second biggest share (24 percent). Furthermore, 14 percent of new students were aged 30 years or older.
