Sweden: environmental protection expenditure by industry 2021

The electricity, gas, heating and waterworks industry had the highest expenditure on environmental protection in Sweden in 2021, amounting to nearly 7.5 billion Swedish kronor. In comparison, the total expenditure for environmental protection in the pulp, paper and paper products industry, the industry with the second highest expenditure, amounted to 3.5 billion kronor, followed by the food, beverage, and tobacco industry at 2.3 billion.
