U.S. lobbying spending by oil & gas companies 2023
Occidental Petroleum spent more on lobbying than any other oil and gas company in the United States from January to September 2023. During that period of time, Occidental Petroleum's lobbying expenditure amounted to 7.8 million U.S. dollars. The Kansas-based conglomerate Koch Industries, which owns subsidiaries working along the oil and gas supply chain, allocated 6.2 million U.S. dollars for lobbying purposes, which was the second-largest oil and gas lobbying expenditure in the U.S. during that timeframe.
