Corriere della Sera newspaper copies in circulation in Italy 2014-2021

Over the period from 2014 to 2021, the number of copies in circulation of Corriere della Sera has dropped. In fact, the print and digital readership decreased from five million copies in 2014 to around 255 thousand copies in 2020. At least between 2013 and 2016, it seems that the sharp drop has affected more printed copies than digital ones.

A national newspaper

Corriere della Sera is one of the main Italian national daily newspapers, owned by RCS Media Group and founded in Milan, in the Italian region of Lombardy, where it is largely read. In December 2020, Corriere della Sera was the most read daily newspaper with an average of 204 thousand copies sold, overtaking La Repubblica, the second most read newspaper with 158 thousand copies.

Online readers

Web traffic data indicate that readers of Corriere della Sera might have decreased as well. Data related to 2018 show that the number of unique visitors went from 24 million unique visitors in March to 15 million unique visitors in October 2018. However, the number of mobile users reading the newspaper on their phone experienced an increase, reaching 2.95 million individual daily users on average in December 2021.
