In 2023, Pemex had 94 drilling rigs, up from 82 drilling rigs in the previous year. In comparison to a decade earlier, however, this represents a decline of more than 32 percent. Officially named Petróleos Mexicanos, the company is Mexico's national oil corporation. Once amongst the largest oil companies in the world, Pemex's crude oil production reported an annual decrease throughout the past decade.
