Ofgem criteria state that one or more of the following criteria must apply for a business to be categorised as a micro-business:
- must consume gas or electricity at anything other than a domestic premises; or
- the business must have fewer than 10 full time employees (or equivalent) and an annual turnover of €2 million or less; or
- an annual consumption of electricity of not more than 55,000 kWh; or
- an annual consumption of gas of not more than 200,000 kWh.
