Integrated circuit market share worldwide 1998-2020, by system type
In 2020, the computer and communications system types each occupied the largest share of the total integrated circuit (IC) market worldwide. The communications and automotive segments in particular have experienced significant growth over the time period studied, almost doubling their share since 1998 where they accounted for just 18.5 percent and 4.7 percent of the global IC market, respectively.
