Ridership - Amtrak 2013-2022

In the fiscal year of 2020, Amtrak transported only 16.8 million passengers in North America, 47.4 percent decrease compared to the previous year. The drop in passenger traffic is related to the Covid-19 pandemic travel demand reduction. Passenger numbers fell further in 2021 but began recovering in 2022, increasing to 22.93 million passengers.
