Zynga Poker is an online social game simulating a casino environment, where gamers join virtual 'tables' and play Texas Hold’em poker against other gamers. The platform was created in 2007 and seven years later it was not only one of the most popular games on Facebook, it was also a leader among social casino titles when it came to number of monthly active users (MAU). In 2015, Zynga Poker had 25.9 million MAU, who contributed to Zynga generating 764.7 million U.S. dollars in global revenue that same year.
Another popular brand in this ranking is PlayStation. In addition to being the second most popular gaming brand on Facebook, it was also the leader on Twitter as of May 2016, having the highest number of followers among gaming brands. In fact, in 2015 the PlayStation brand created a lot of online buzz, and ranked first among the top gaming platforms by number of online article mentions.
The sixth brand on the list is Call of Duty, which includes separate brand pages for World at War, Modern Warfare and Black Ops – all with the same number of Facebook followers. Published by Activision, Call of Duty (CoD) is a popular first person shooter video game series which first launched in 2004. Call of Duty: Black Ops III was one of the most successful projects ever for both the developer and the publisher. In 2015, the game was the most highly anticipated PlayStation 4 title and it subsequently went on to secure the first spot in a ranking of PS4 best-selling video games that year, with nearly 11 million copies sold.
