U.S. electricity consumption by sector 2022

In 2022, the residential sector consumed more than 1,500 terawatt-hours of electricity in the United States, the largest consuming sector in the country. It was closely followed by the commercial sector. In contrast, the transportation sector was the least power demanding sector, with some 6.6 terawatt-hours consumed.
