Italy: top ten wine brands on Facebook 2018 In Italy, Mionetto Prosecco is the wine brand with the highest number of Facebook fans. In December 2018, it counted 177,240 fans, followed by Val D’Oca with 91,164 fans. Franciacorta ranked third with nearly 90 thousand fans.

The sparkling wine brand Mionetto is very popular online. With a media influence score of 83 points, it ranked second out of 33 Italian wine companies. The score of media influence was calculated taking several factors into account: posting content on social networks, number of fans or subscribers, usability of the company’s websites, and so on.

Mionetto winery was founded in 1887 in the Prosecco area located in Northeast of Italy. Now it is an international company generating about 60 percent of its revenues from sales abroad. As other smaller wineries, it contributes to the large production of quality Prosecco, whose production volume reached about 91.4 million bottles in 2017.
