In 2017, the per capita consumption of jam, marmalade and similar products based on fruit in Sweden amounted to 5.6 kilograms. As visualized in the statistic, the consumption of those sweet spreads stayed nearly unchanged over the past ten years and only dropped in the last year. In the years 2006 and 2010, the highest consumption volume was recorded, as the amount was 7.8 kilograms per person.
The sale of jam, marmalade and similar spreads generated a turnover of more than 1.7 billion Swedish kronor in 2017, which is an increase of nearly 400 kronor compared to 2007. In that year, jams and marmalade generated a revenue of 1.3 million kronor for the retail trade in Sweden.
